Why do we fear? Because we did something wrong, afraid of being hurt, being real with people, or various phobias, death or disease? What is fear? Is it good or bad? Does fear accomplish good in your life? look at a few scriptures on the subject of fear.
Do you know the first example of fear in the bible? It can be found in Genesis 3:10. It’s after Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They heard God calling them and they were afraid because they were naked, they hid themselves. They were trying to cover up their nakedness with their own works, which is unacceptable to God. Now they find themselves in bondage to Satan. This is what fear does, put you in bondage. It alters your life, hindering you from the joy and peace of the Lord.
As we go through this time of uncertainty concerning the Corona Virus, let us not fear, but pray and rest in the fact that Jesus is LORD. He is sovereign and in control. Trust Him, continue to show love to one another; not selfish panic buying. Let us adhere to the medical guidelines and instructions provided to us.
There is only one fear we should have. It is a good fear. It is positive. A fear that will bring you peace and comfort during this time. It is the fear of the LORD. Proverbs 1:7 states “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Wow! The LORD is the source of all wisdom and knowledge. Wisdom is imparted to you through God’s WORD, but only if you seek it. So, why not take a seat in your favorite chair, grab a pen and note pad, pick up your bible and go for it. You will be amazed at what you find. No better time then now. Talk to HIM and cast your burdens to him and let Him speak to your heart.
To fear God is to respect God with reverence. Because God is righteous and holy, he is worthy of our respect. Therefore, we should be concerned about the consequences of displeasing Him. How do we fear God? We submit to Him. So ladies, open up the bibles and enjoy!
