The world is going through one of the most dramatic changes never seen before. Everything we’re used to, is no longer. Yet in all of this, we have another dramatic time of the year. It is a special time of the year. It is the time Jesus is preparing to die on the cross for our sins. The timing comparison is almost ironic. What we’re presently experiencing does not compare to what Jesus experienced for us. It was a special time of preparation 40 days preceding the resurrection, Easter Sunday.
During that time, Jesus was preparing His disciples for His death and to carry on His work. He was a servant who washed the disciples feet. He prayed to the Father to not have to die on the cross, but humbled Himself stating “not my will, but thy will be done.” He loved us so much that He died for us. He showed us how to be humble.
It is a holy time of the year. It is a time to reflect, meditate on God’s Words in the Gospels. It is a time for fast and prayer. Let us focus on Jesus walk to the cross, His death, burial and resurrection. Alleluia! He rose and is seated at the right hand of God in all power and authority. And guess what? We as His children are resurrected in the same power. “We can do all things in Christ who strengthens us.”
Let us get back to the basics and act like it. God has given us EVERYTHING we need pertaining to life and godliness. So, why don’t we act like it? Take the time, this special time; grow, surrender, and be changed. Are you looking more like Him day to day? This is a special time. Rejoice and be glad.
