As I pray for God’s wisdom and direction on what topic to blog on, He presented me with a challenge. I want to share the challenge with you because I believe it is something we sisters can get better at doing. Curious now? We must get back to the work. I know the pandemic has kept us away from the community whether it is the workplace, neighborhood, the church; it has been difficult to have that intimacy and personal contact. Our environments have been limited. However, I am challenged to do more outreach. We need to build our church. Ladies, God has blessed us with many gifts to share and make provisions for those in need. Unsaved young ladies need mentors, most of all they need to see Jesus alive in our lives, our daily walk. We must have the mindset of Christ. Matthew 28:18–20 (NKJV): And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
How about stepping out on some great faith with a cup of grace, strength from the Sword, and power from the indwelling Spirit. Sound good? Well, let’s make it happen.
Okay, here is the first part of the challenge. Check out your environment every day in prayer to seek out at least one person, preferably another female, or an Older female reaching out to a younger female. Seek out a lost sister to encourage. We need to take the Gospel to the world. Look for an opportunity to make and grow disciples.
To do this, we need to fall in love with Jesus all over again, then take that love out to the world. Maybe for you, it is someone in your household, workplace, a neighbor, that woman in the grocery store, the mail lady. We can encourage and give attention to unbelieving friends and cultivate ministry opportunities and friendships. Opportunities such as these allow us to grow as we invest in the life of another female.
Find her and pray for her every day. Invest time with her. Let’s share our lives intentionally doing spiritual good to one another, and growing in Christ. We have young ladies right in our church who need to be encouraged on how to walk this life of faith. not giving in to temptations and the schemes of the devil. That lady could be the one sitting in front of you, next to you, or behind you in church. Be intentional, sell her out.
As we share the gospel and our lives (1 Thess. 2:8), we must be vulnerable. In Titus 2, Paul tells the older women to teach the younger women what is good. He uses the word “training” which implies time and commitment. It means allowing each other to get close enough to witness God’s divine strength at work in one another’s life.
When we reach out by sharing life, intentionally doing spiritual good to one another, and growing in Christ, we carry out the Great Commission. We equip and advance God’s kingdom. God has blessed our lives with those who have discipled and grown us, by the power of God. Therefore, let us take that same wisdom to change lives. We can invest and not deprive the very people we’ve been called to serve of the same beautiful transformation God is doing in our own lives. Remember when someone took the time to disciple you upon salvation? I sure do, and grateful every day for it.
It may take you out of your comfort zone, but as followers of Christ, we’re obligated to fulfill the Commission. We want to see more people added to the household of God, trained in the truth and godliness (1 Tim. 4:6, 8), and following his example by walking in sacrificial love. (Eph. 5:1–2). The challenge is not easy, but if we trust God to do what only He can do, He will place that individual in your pathway. Don’t shy away, don’t fear. Relax and let God use you. We must be sensitive to the Holy Spirit when He is nudging us to do something. Let’s not miss the opportunity. God has blessed us with gifts. May we honor Him and use them to be light in the world, drawing others to hope we have in Jesus Christ.
The final part of the challenge is to comment on this post when God reveals to you the person He wants you to disciple. This can be a rewarding experience for all of us. It is a journey for both partakers of which the benefits for spiritual growth are vast. So, hey ladies, get on board and let’s do this!
Amen!
