Do you have a special person you dream about meeting? Someone, you long to meet? Who would it be? What would you do or discuss with this person? I pondered these very questions upon a vivid dream I had one Sunday afternoon. As I began to think about it, the very first person to come to mind was Jesus and the second person is the Apostle Paul. These two people are my favorite people because they encourage me to mimic their lifestyles, not by copycat, but sincerely walking and loving as they did.
When I think about the world today, I am prompted to seek more of the Word and prayer. I want to do better. I want to be a peacemaker. I desire unity and to love as Jesus does. I desire to overcome the hate and division (so prevalent today) by walking humbly, loving others, especially the unlovely ones. After all, are we not called to love and win souls to Christ? These very attributes and character are one of many reasons why Jesus is my dream Person to meet. He accepts me just as I am. I know I will learn more about everything when I encounter His face and in His presence. When my life is focused upon meeting Jesus in the future, life is meaningful and worth living.
Meeting Jesus
I am not sure if I’d be able to speak in his presence. I think the first thing I would say over and over is “Thank you.” I have many questions to ask Him. The joy of seeing the Lord, Jesus face to face surpasses everything else in life; after all, I live for this moment. My life here on earth is a rehearsal and prerequisite to my meeting the KING OF KING’s face to face. The fact that He loved me so much to die a horrific death so I would be delivered from sin and Satan’s rule of my life is a reason to glorify Him above all else. He set me free and has given me an inheritance into His family. He has given me EVERYTHING I need pertaining to life and the resources to resist the devil, live humbly, love unselfishly, and wisdom on how to live in a dying world system.
Now, back to what I would do. I am not sure, but this is what I imagine. I will probably fall on my knees, shaking in awe and fear, but praising Him. Oh, the thrill of living in the eternal presence of the One who died for me. Will it take my breath away? I don’t know. Next, I would ask for a hug. Then, I would start with the questions. I would ask Him all about His personality, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Am I able to meet each person of the triune God? Can you explain it to me? To meet, the Person who made me in His image, words can’t describe. Oh, the beauty of seeing Him, talking to Him, walking with Him in my new resurrected being. Wow, I feel the chills. I pray when our eyes first meet, I will hear Him say, “Well done my faithful servant. Enter the joy of your Lord.”
I have dreamed of seeing Jesus’ face and thanking Him for all the blessings He has bestowed. The bible states I am His workmanship; Ephesians 2:10. His Word tells me I have been made alive with Christ and raised with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-7. This is power, it’s good stuff. Why don’t we use it? Wow, I don’t deserve it, but this is how much He loves me and my raggedy self. I have two requests from Jesus when we meet face to face. Please show me how to love as you do and how to wait patiently. The two things I struggle with on earth. The only negative thing I can think of upon meeting my Savior face to face is God revealing to me the kingdom work I neglected to do while on earth. I want to know His thoughts and His ways, Isaiah 55:8-9.
I don’t know who that famous person you dream of meeting, but if you know Christ intimately, I pray that you have a yearning for the coming day of the Lord, the joy of meeting our Savior face to face. Like the Apostle, Paul stated in Titus 2:13, “Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” Our Savior suffered and bled and died for us, giving Himself entirely, so that we may freely receive eternal life and hope. What an amazing Person to meet face to face. He deserves our all. He is worthy. Often times I believe the church is no longer excited about Him because it is not seen in the life, nor is His ways reflected before the world. This is the one person I desire to not only meet but to represent in all facets of my life.
Here is a Man who never gives up on me, nor stops pursuing me. He transforms my mind. I love Jesus because I can rest in Him. He is my hope, He is my joy, He is my salvation…that’s why I love Him. I am assured of my future. He is a man of integrity who calms my soul in the midst of the storms. Yes, I long to see you face to face.
Meeting The Apostle Paul
Paul was a bad dude. Bad in a good way. His books are richly rewarding. Paul was fixated on spreading the Gospel to the world. He understood the urgency of the situation. He was a prayer warrior. It was not hard for him to put his feelings aside when people attacked him for preaching the Gospel. It did not faze him as long as the Word was proclaimed. He was bold, persistent, and intentional in sharing the Truth. This is a healthy challenge for me. I want to ask Paul how he stayed focused on the mission; and why he never gave up. I want to know from the time of his conversion what he did to grow in God’s Word. I’d ask him how did he continually care about the destiny of unbelievers so much that he put aside all differences to reach the unsaved?
Paul got it. He was a wise man. When I read the epistles he penned, I am enlightened by his wisdom. For example, James writes about wisdom in James 3:17-18, which actually defines the character of Paul and an example of how we should walk. I want to know how Paul persevered. What was a day like for him? Paul was an example of what patience looks like. He lived out “in whatever state to be content” Philippians 4:11. Both Jesus and Paul endured wrong and ill treatment without anger or desire for revenge. How do you love people who hate you, use you, oppress you? Paul found the secret.
Paul’s epistles reflected a man of wisdom, who loved deeply with the love of God. Nobody could deter his mission, nor distract him. He is focused out of a heart devoted to God. Life on earth is difficult. Today many have lost their way, especially the church, the body of Christ. How much of our lives are devoted to Kingdom work, to daily devotions to God, listening to His voice for our plans? Does He lead your life in all things or just a very few? Do we even acknowledge Him daily or throughout the day? I just imagine what the world would look like if we, the body of Christ lived out the urgency of being united, loving, and winning souls.
Bold in proclaiming the Gospel, Paul did not care about being persecuted for spreading the Good News. He did not fear because he was a man of faith, surrendered to the power of Jesus. Nothing else in life matters outside of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is a place I yearn to be and am praying for the Holy Spirit to do His work in me.
I have to stop here to share what God just placed on my heart. When we look at our society today, there is a new religion, self-glorification, power, control….me, me, me. I say the words “new religion” because it is a political Christian group whom by no means centers around the love of Jesus nor reflects the LIGHT of Jesus. The wrath of God will come upon our disobedience. What is most sad is that the church is so out of the will of God, they have no clue what the enemy is doing, nor the spiritual warfare occurring today because they’re a part of the group. You’re already compromised. There is little distinction between the world and the believer. The church should recognize the time is urgent. It is time to get back on track to do battle in Jesus’ name. It is not a time to be spiritually dead. If we’re not praying, studying, obeying regularly, how will you discern the attacks of the devil or be equipped to deal with the many LIES and SCHEMES of the devil. How will you know? It is time to take back our nation and place it into God’s hand, NOT what we say, not lifted up in pride, whose right or whose wrong, but on our knees asking Jesus, “what will thou have me to, do dear Jesus?.
Well gals, I named 2 people I admire and would love to meet right now. However, I will wait patiently until that great and awesome day when we shall meet in the rapture. Paul left his image/mindset to the world. Paul’s character is something to aspire to. We can learn much from his remarkable character. Patience in letters on church discipline, and courage, not fearing to preach or teach anywhere and to anyone; His humility, always yielding in situations that might damage the Gospel message. Yes, he was persistent, uncompromising in his walk, forgiving, and much more. Studying the Apostle Paul’s life brings forth a wealth of resources we can apply in our spiritual journey.
As I stated earlier, I am not sure who that person is you long to meet, but you know mine. By no means can we exalt Paul over our Lord and Savior, but I see Paul as an ordinary man I can mimic my lifestyle. These two people encourage the way I choose to live, serve, and love ALL people through the eyes of Jesus. I pray believers everywhere will lay down those things that hinder you from quality time with Christ so that your eyes and ears are open to Him and you apply what you learn. The time to be serious is now because the darkness is unfolding quickly in our world.
You know things have changed, not for good. It is just getting started. We’re gearing up for deep dark times. The prince of the air, here on earth has doubled down. His demons are infiltrating more souls every day. Christians are turning from TRUTH to lies and a man-made religion that will kill you because the Spirit is dead and/or not in you. This is a very dangerous way to live. I have asked myself the question, “Where is the true church?” Where are love, peace, and unity?
We are needy spiritually. Let us pray to choose obedience to the one who died for us. Let us be intentional about loving, caring, and viewing people through the lens of Jesus. Might we react to His urgent call to stand as warriors prepared to fight the spiritual battle against the enemy who is rising in numbers; here on earth; and for those who have already crossed over to the dark side, I pray He will snatch you back soon. Finally, let’s put Him back on the throne of our hearts and lives that we may be a spiritual blessing to all we encounter.
God bless you all.
